Becoming A Young Entrepreneur
Posted in Uncategorized on January 10th, 2010 by Stefhanus – Be the first to comment Tags: entrepreneurThere is certainly no minimum age on how old you can start your own business. Take Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, as an example. Zuckerberg (born May 14, 1984) is an American entrepreneur best known for co-founding the popular social networking site Facebook. Or Jennifer Kushell who had started her first small business which create and sell hand-painted T-shirts at the age of 13. By the time she was 19, she had started three other businesses and launched the Young Entrepreneurs Network, the first online network for young people trying to start their own companies.
Starting at a young age certainly gives us some advantages. Firstly, it is a very good way to build up a respectable CV. We will not be a ‘fresh’ kid who just come out to the workforce and know nothing about something. At least, we have got the experience and knowledge of doing certain things.
Secondly, because we are still young and have less things to worry about (such as a mortgage or family to provide for) we can embark on a new opportunity without much stress and pressure. We do not have to worry about staying up late and someone will complain or working long hours and not spending quality time with partner and kids. In this way, we can focus more on the important things in building up our business.
On the other hand, starting young can also give you some drawbacks. You have no experience in running a business. Probably you learn some business basics at college, but that cannot be compared to real-life experience. Another thing is you may not have a lot of money to start up with.
